Sala honored with Sister CEO Award - February 18, 2010

On Saturday, November 14, 2009,  Sala Adenike joined a group of esteemed women from the Greater Augusta area  to receive the Sister CEO award, hosted by Mr. Anthony Page’s organization, Augusta Renaissance.  The Mistress of Ceremony was the much-loved daughter of music legend Dr. James Brown, Deanna Brown. Sala was honored with the Flamingo Award for being colorful, creative and committed.

Collaboration with Velocity Studio! - January 9, 2010

Sala Adenike, ABATSU African Drummers and Dancers, and AJADACO Childrens African Dance Company is collaborating with the recently opened Velocity Dance Studio, located at 830 Broad St, Downtown Augusta, Ga 30901 (directly across from the Augusta Commons Park and landmark James Brown Statue).

African dance and classes for teens and adults  will be at Velocity Studios on Wednesdays  at 5:45 - 6:45 PM

Sunday classes will continue to be held at the Martial Arts and Dance Studio, Augusta Business Center on Washington Rd,  Augusta, Ga., Suite #118

Sala Adenike continues as Visual Arts Teacher for Jessye Norman School of the Arts !! - January 9, 2010

Sala Adenike , known as "Mrs. Allen" at the Jessye Norman School of the arts , will continue as  visual arts instructor on faculty.

The Jessye Norman School of the Arts is an after-school program designed to develop and nurture the artistic and creative talents of students. The school serves the cultural and educational needs of these traditionally under-served youth by providing:

free fine arts instruction; academic tutoring; an opportunity for advanced study in dance, drama, music, and art; exposure to professionals working within the arts fields; information on possible careers in the arts; knowledge of technical aspects of presentation and performance.
